"Great Resort for the Money"

My wife and I recently returned from a 4 night stay at Port Orleans Riverside. We stayed from 11/19 to 11/23. We thought it was wonderful. Our room was on the 3rd floor overlooking the river and had a King Size bed. The room was always clean and the staff was extremely friendly. This was our second stay at a Disney Resort. Our first stay was at the All Star Resort. My wife and I both agree that this was a definite improvement and worth the extra money. We were quite impressed. We plan on staying here again on our next visit.

"Showing its age"

Stayed in January 2003 with kids for 5 days. Booked this resort where we had enjoyed earlier visits. The hotel rooms are getting run down and shabby, although the grounds are still beautiful. And despite booking "no smoking rooms" and a fairly empty hotel, Disney staff made us wait a long time before agreeing to give us a nonsmoking room. (We had this experience previously in the Polynesian.)

"Lighten Up!"

SOME people out there need to lighten up! After reading some of these reviews, I have to laugh. Of course there are bugs in Florida! Disney can't change that for you. And of course there is standing water. It rains in Florida almost daily at certain times of the year. Disney can't do a thing about that, either. We've stayed at Port Orleans a few times. It has always been quite satisfactory to us. Clean, efficient. Food at the courts a little pricy, but you're on vacation. You can't expect McDonald's prices at any resort that I know of. If you don't like paying the high prices, consider a cooler and a local grocery store for kids' milk, etc. All in all, any Disney resort is a great place to stay. It's Disney, for goodness sake!
