We stayed at the Sheraton Vistana Villages (not to be confused with the Sheraton Vistana RESORT) just for 2 nights-Nov. 24-26, 2003. We were thrilled with the cleanliness and amenities. Our 2 bedroom suite was spacious and lovely. Everything was new and comfortable, with full kitchen, washer/dryer, etc. Our 3 boys loved the nicely heated pool with waterfalls and fountains. We were in building 6. I think buildings 1,2,3 would be closer to the pool area, but we weren't very far away. Location was convenient to grocery store and we had easy access to main roads to Disney parks (I think about a 10 minute easy ride). Note that you will be in 1 of 10 separate apartment-like buildings, so if you like that "big, hotel-type" feel of a central lobby to walk down to, a bar area, etc. --it's not like that. Those amenities are all there, but not attached to where the rooms are--just FYI. We really loved it and just avoided the phone call to pick-up our "welcome" package (which we knew was an invite to a time-share breakfast). Would stay there again for sure.
We stayed at the Sheraton Vistana Village in early November and we were very impressed with the hotel. The rooms are ample and well-decorated with all facilities (fridge, microwave, etc) provided. The hotel grounds were pleasant and the pool of a fairly large size. Two minor niggles: housekeeping was not very efficient and we had to complain a couple of times about the cleaning; they were too keen in trying to sell a time-share and when we told them we wouldn't be able to decide on the spot they became quite pushy which I didn't like. I would definitely use the Vistana in the future.
We have stayed at the Vistana Villages 4 times in the past 2 years. We have also brought many people to stay. Everyone was very impressed. If you want a great location, with excellent amenities this is the place. We love to go to Florida and don't care much for the park scene. Vistana villages is perfect for tons of family fun and relaxation. We have stayed in both the 2BR, which is fabulous, but have found that the 1BR is sufficent enough for our family of four. The sofa pulls out into a bed and is, we think, just as comfortable as the king bed in the master. If you want the space, the 2BR is definately the choice you want to make. We have found some really great rates for this property and its worth every penny. Do not make the mistake of thinking this is Vistana Resort. Vistana Villages is a seperate property and has only been open for a couple of years. Every room is clean and new in appearance. You can't go wrong by staying at Vistana Villages.
